I have been told that I was always the Creative in the family. Long before I could read, I was pushing the limits of my simple crayons and newsprint in an effort to communicate ideas and symbols to those around me.

It took only a brief but frustrating few years to learn that the symbols I was creating were not readable to the majority of my audience. Ever supportive, Mom always said she got it and put it on the 'fridge— still, I wondered.

My style changed during my preschool years and the symbols that are common to most people's visual lexicon began to appear.

Suddenly, my work was understood and I became overjoyed by this revelation.

My first camera, a Polaroid Zip camera that was handed to me when I experimented once too often with the composition of crayons and a convenient wall, taught me the glory of instant gratification of ideas. You visualize it here, set up some old dinosaur toys and toy soldiers there, add some light and *poof* the idea was realized.

During my bright, and somewhat long, college years, I found the camera a better tool to express my ideas than the brush. The challenge of visual symbols and their relationships excited me. The process was still the same. Visualize, prop it, and shoot, but now I learned the skills. No more happy accidents with dinosaurs.

Reliable, interesting results that could convey my message everytime.

The Rochester Institute of Technology eventually bestowed upon me the coveted Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising Photography.

Since then, I have been creating images that strive to work at the intersection of art and commerce, for a wide variety of clients and projects that range from brochures and annual reports to advertisements.

If you are interested in images that specifically, and creatively, speaks your message to your audience, give me a call.
